Information sources, are available in many formats and methods.
1) The main source of information are the weekly Troop meetings and the monthly PLC / TLC meetings (PLC = patrol leader council, TLC = troop leader council). Please check the monthly calendars for meeting days and times. Meetings provide the most current information on what is happening in the Troop.
2) This web site. We have tried to develop this site as a constant and current source of information that is available to all Troop members 24/7. It offers forms, calendars, and general information with only a few clicks of a mouse.
3) Emails. A mailing list is maintained by the Troop with current email addresses. Many Troop members have their parents work as well as home email addresses on this list, as well as the Scout's email address. This insures everyone receives the same information in a very timely manner. Using this method, late breaking news or announcements can easily and quickly be broadcast to all concerned. Make sure you have your current email address on file with the Troop.
Recommended reading, we strongly suggest you read the Troop 214 Parent & Leaders Guide first. It is available on the Resources page. This guide will answer most of your questions about Troop 214, it's policies, and it's procedures. Also available on this web site, on the Resources page is the Troop yearly planner, Troop forms, links to other Internet sites, the yearly duty roster, merit badge links, and other assorted information related to the function of the Troop.
Rules & regulations, by which the Troop functions can be found in two resources. First, the Troop 214 Parent & Leaders Guide will answer most if not all questions regarding Troop rules and regulations. Second, the Scout Handbook, which can be purchased at the Council Scout Shop. Scouts and Scouters are required to live by the Scout Oath and Scout Law, both of which can be found in your Scout Handbook.
